Las Vegas committee approves renewal of Alta Drive Special Improvement District assessments

Zalala Malamu, engineering project manager with the Department of Public Works, told the committee that “SID 1485 consists of 37 properties along Alta Drive between Rantau Drive and approximately 275 feet west of Lacey Lane in Ward 1. This district covers the annual cost of landscape maintenance, utility services, and plant nutrition.”
The committee was told the district assessment for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, totals $118,050 and is paid 100% by the property owners. Staff recommended approval.
With no members of the public offering comment, the Mayor Pro Tem moved the item to a committee vote; the chair then said, “Please vote. And post. That item passes.” The bill (listed in the transcript as Bill 2025-3) will be scheduled for consideration by the City Council on May 21, 2025.
The ordinance renewal covers routine maintenance and associated utilities and does not change the city’s fiscal exposure because the SID is funded entirely by assessed property owners.
