Bluff councilors on May 6 approved accepting an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) contract for the Cooperative Cultural Center (CCC) and authorized the mayor to sign the agreement.
Staff said the town previously had been notified of a $122,616 award and that the agency increased the grant to the full requested amount — reported in the meeting as $166,650 — to cover wall and ceiling insulation, lighting replacement and related measures for the CCC. Staff clarified the town also received a separate, smaller EECBG award to replace community-center lighting.
The period of performance runs through Dec. 30, 2026, and staff noted the project schedule will align with the architectural planning process. Council moved to approve the contract signature; the ayes carried with four members voting in favor and one member absent from the vote.
Staff will proceed with contract execution and with procurement and design steps consistent with grant requirements and project timelines.
