Because the request arrived less than 48 hours before the session, the council voted to amend the motion to table and later placed that amendment on consent for the 7:00 p.m. meeting.
The mayor and multiple councilmembers clarified the effect of tabling: if an item is tabled it will not proceed as a public hearing at that meeting. For one site-plan item (Kennesaw Battle), a councilmember noted it is not a public hearing because the zoning had already been approved, though members may still ask questions during council discussion.
