He said he would bring “a thoughtful, balanced, and pragmatic perspective” to the commission and emphasized community engagement.
Committee members praised Esparias’s background and voted to move the nomination forward by voice and roll call. The recorded roll call in committee showed unanimous support among members present (aye votes from Blumenfield, Hutt, Nazarian and Raman; Lee absent). The nomination will be considered by the full City Council for final appointment.
