Lincoln County Schools board approves AIG plan, three middle-school restroom contracts, Chromebook purchase and county memorandum of agreement

The Lincoln County Schools Board of Education approved a set of district-level plans and procurement decisions at its meeting, voting to adopt the 2026–2029 Academically/Intellectually Gifted (AIG) plan, award three middle-school restroom construction contracts, accept a vendor recommendation for Chromebooks and authorize a memorandum of agreement with Lincoln County government.

For East Lincoln Middle School the board approved V. Stuart McKee as the selected contractor after a motion by Mr. Jenkins and a second by Ms. Long. For Lincolnton Middle School the board approved V. Stuart McKee as the selected contractor after a motion by Mr. Jenkins and a second by Mr. Jarrett. All three motions carried.

Why it matters: These contract awards authorize the district to proceed with selected contractors to complete restroom facilities at three middle schools; each contract was awarded following the district's posted RFP process as submitted to the board.

The board accepted a recommendation to award the district's Chromebook purchase to CDW. Steven Hall (staff member) presented the recommendation and said multiple criteria outlined in the applicable state procurement statutes were used, with price being a primary factor among others.
