The project team emphasized a priority to have fencing and temporary roads in place before the first day of school so arrival and dismissal patterns are stable.
Committee members asked about Curtis Corner (stadium, field and track). Officials said the district has set an $11 million budget cap for that site and is parsing the work into three separate packages — demolition, field/track/stadium, and supporting site work — so individual packages can go to early bid. The committee was told that early bidding would help contain costs, allow earlier work, and permit earlier reimbursement from state capital funds.
Officials also noted ongoing permitting and coordination with RIDE and Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and said the project team includes several local firms. The superintendent and building‑project leaders encouraged the committee to be available for an expedited approval if needed to meet submission deadlines.
