Staff reports: April sales tax, EV charging scoping, Lago Fest and pool updates

City staff provided a routine report to the Lago Vista Economic Development Advisory Committee on May 24 covering April sales tax, early EV charging vendor conversations, event attendance and the pool reopening.
Staff reported April sales tax receipts totaled $78,006.56. In answer to committee questions, staff said sales tax is down year‑to‑date compared with the same period last year (January–March and continuing), and that staff will provide year‑to‑date and comparative figures after returning to the office.
Staff said they had met with a turnkey EV charging provider identified as Invar Spark to evaluate potential sites (the village, the Lowe's shopping center and the golf course were mentioned) and that the vendor would provide cost and revenue assurance options for the city. Staff said the vendor planned to discuss potential site numbers and revenue models with the district (ISD) as part of scoping.
Staff reported Lago Fest parking at 420 cars this year, up from 306 last year, and that the city pool reopened on Saturday, May 24 after being closed the previous season. Staff also said the city applied for an H‑E‑B $5,000 'Trees for Texas' grant and that economic development week and related events were scheduled.
City staff said they will forward more precise monthly and year‑to‑date sales tax data to the committee and that additional detail on EV project costs will be provided when the vendor returns numbers.
