The Cedar Hill City Manager announced at the May 13 city council briefing that Sofia Inseman has joined the city as its first communications and engagement manager and will lead a new centralized marketing and community engagement team.
City Manager (name provided in the meeting only as Belinda) said the city has “had the dream of having a centralized communications department for some time” and credited Inseman’s prior work with the city through a contract with KACE Strategies. The manager said Inseman coordinated public relations and marketing for the grand opening of the city library, Signature Park events, the mayor’s podcast and other economic development initiatives while working with KACE Strategies and K Strategies.
Sofia Inseman, introduced from the meeting audience, told the council she was “so honored to officially be a part of the Cedar Hill family” and said she had “definitely fallen in love with this city” during the year and a half she worked with the city through the marketing contract. Inseman will lead the city’s new marketing team, which the city manager said will handle strategic communications, public relations and engagement across departments.
The city manager said Inseman’s private-sector experience with diverse clients will help departments define and meet marketing goals. The briefing did not include details on Inseman’s start date, salary, or the size and composition of the new communications team.
