Bedford canvasses election results; Amy Sable and Steve Farco sworn in

The City of Bedford on May 13 formally accepted the Tarrant County‑certified canvass of the May 3 general election and administered the statement of elected officer and oath of office to the two successful candidates.
City Secretary Michael Wells told the council staff had received the official results from Tarrant County and presented the resolution to accept the canvass. Council members moved and seconded the resolution and voted to approve it; the measure carried 5–0. After acceptance of the canvass, the oath of office and certificates of election were presented and administered to Amy Sable (Place 3) and Steve Farco (Place 5).
Mayor Dan Cogan welcomed the returning council members to the dais and noted the council’s continuity as the city begins its new term. No further action was required beyond the ceremonial administration of the oath and issuance of certificates.
The council’s approval of the canvass enabled the council to proceed immediately to oath administration and certificate presentation as required by state election procedures.
