Board accepts superintendent evaluation; appoints member to lead contract update

The board recorded an overall evaluation score of 3.82 (described in the meeting as "highly effective"). Following presentation of the evaluation results, the board moved to accept and approve Collins' evaluation for the 2024-25 year and the motion carried by voice vote.
Board members then nominated and approved Karen Michaels to work with Collins, the charter HR manager (Christy Bellasios) and the city attorney to review market comparables and draft an updated employment agreement to return to the board at the next regular meeting. The board discussed whether the city or the charter should produce comparable salary data; members agreed HR, the city attorney and the nominated board member will assemble comparables and a recommendation.
Collins requested a contract review; the board agreed it has been several years since her agreement was last updated and directed the working group to return a draft at the June 24 meeting.
