Liberty County commissioners approve contracts, plats and administrative items; authorize exploration of 400 Main Street purchase and accept two confidential EE

The Liberty County Commissioners Court approved a slate of routine operational contracts, engineering draws and subdivision approvals at its March 31 meeting, and voted to authorize a commissioner to explore purchase negotiations for 400 Main Street. In executive session the court accepted recommendations from the county attorney and outside counsel to settle two EEOC matters; one of those votes recorded a 3–1 split.

Major approvals included authorization for the Texas Comptroller to allocate any unclaimed capital credits to Liberty County (amount not specified), ratification of the designated location for foreclosure sales under Texas Property Code 51.002 (the south steps of the courthouse), and an order authorizing Memorial Day fireworks sales from May 21–26, 2025 with specified exclusions.

Operational purchasing and contract approvals with limited discussion included adding copiers to the county master contract (platinum copiers for the Dayton tax office and JP Court, Precinct 4 at $105.36 per month each), a one-time desktop multifunction printer for JP Precinct 4 for $412.32, and approving Prosperity Bank as a county repository with a collateral pledge meeting the county investment policy (110% of aggregate balances).
