Moffat County commissioners approve series of purchases, permits and resolutions

The board unanimously waived bidding and approved the purchase of a John Deere utility vehicle through the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract; awarded a passenger van bid to Victory Motors of Craig; approved purchase of a low-speed shredder from 3R Machinery; approved a minor subdivision application for Shimizu (S-25-03); approved a conditional use permit for Union Wireless (C-25-04) to replace a temporary communications unit with a permanent tower; approved Resolution 2025-51 consenting to a contiguous boundary for a proposed regional transit authority connection along Highway 40; approved a $6,500 county contribution to the Western States and Tribal Nations Energy Initiative study; and approved Resolution 2025-48 requesting U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Bergman be invited to serve as keynote at the 2026 JOLT Energy Summit.
The board also authorized the human resources department to begin negotiations with a finalist for the county attorney position and, by formal motion, directed HR to make an offer for the Veteran Service Officer position to Veronica Roberts following interviews.
