City staff told council the existing unit is beyond its useful life and that keeping it operational was no longer prudent. The recommended purchase price is $92,731.96; staff proposed a $15,000 trade-in allowance for the current unit, yielding a net purchase price of $77,741.96. Council was told the purchase was included in the current budget ($90,000) and that the new machine would likely be available for delivery by July. The purchase includes a 60-month extended warranty.
The resolution was moved and seconded and adopted by recorded vote.
Staff said the replacement is justified by maintenance deficiencies in the current unit and that the procurement would be completed through Sourcewell, a cooperative purchasing program that allows local governments to purchase from an established vendor contract.
