Herron said she performs site visits and documents completions with photos for county reporting.
Board members discussed using leftover training funds for targeted marketing to help small businesses attract customers. One board member proposed small grants to pay for items such as 30‑second promotional spots or website support; board members and GOEO staff said marketing expenses can qualify under business expansion and retention if documented in the county’s annual report. GOEO staff suggested sending a letter to the agency describing the intended reallocation so the change is on file.
Local workforce training and business recruitment were also discussed. Board members noted substantial local partnerships with the technical college and private employers supporting CDL and other credential programs. The board highlighted various local success stories and emphasized documenting outcomes with photos and testimonials to demonstrate impact for future applications and legislative requests.
No formal county-level awards or contracts were approved at this meeting. The board accepted project updates and discussion items and instructed staff to file required documentation for completed projects and any proposed reallocation of funds.
