Committee approves new Class B tavern license for Jack's Triple 7, adds outdoor area and license-surrender condition

The West Allis Economic Development Committee approved a new Class B tavern and public entertainment license for Jack's Bridal 7 LLC d/b/a Jack's Triple 7, at 6711 West Beloit Road, adopting an amendment to explicitly include a small fenced outdoor smoking area at the rear of the premises as part of the licensed premises. The approval also included a condition that any prior license for the location be surrendered before the new operation begins.

Jeff Clark, identified in the meeting as the agent for Jack's Triple 7, told the committee he has prior tavern experience and said he would reinstall indoor camera systems removed by the prior occupants. "The old people tore all the cameras out, so I'm putting them back in," Clark said. The applicant said inspections remain pending; Clark estimated inspections would take about three more weeks before the business could operate.

City legal counsel and staff asked whether the outdoor area should be shown on the floor plan; the committee amended the license approval to call out the outdoor area explicitly as part of the licensed premises because it was not clear on submitted plans. The committee also required surrender of any existing license for the location before the new license takes effect. Committee members noted standard state laws on alcohol service and discussed cooperation with police and camera sharing when requested.

The motion to approve, including the amendment to add the outdoor space and require surrender of the old license, carried on a voice vote; the chair declared, "The ayes have it." The applicant and staff noted additional inspections (including health and building) and final licensing administrative steps remain before operations can begin.
