The Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission approved a one‑year extension of the preliminary plat for Black’s Wall Street Square, a proposed townhome development at the northeast corner of North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and East Reading Street.
Planning staff said interior roads have been built and the applicant needs additional time to finish the development plan and submit recording documents; staff recommended approval of a one‑year extension. Austin (planning staff) answered commissioner questions that the base zoning controls ultimate development standards and that the plat shows lot dimensions that will guide final building footprints.
Mike Thedford of Wallace Design Collective, representing the applicant, said the rezoning for the project had occurred previously and that the concept being advanced expected at least one‑car garages for units; he noted plans can fluctuate and final building design will be determined as the developer finalizes plans. The commissioners moved and seconded approval of the extension and the motion carried.
