Community Services Commission approves consent calendar unanimously; minutes to be updated

The Community Services Commission unanimously approved the consent calendar at its May 7, 2025 meeting. The consent calendar included multiple routine items; commissioners requested one item be pulled for discussion and clarified that the minutes of the April 2 meeting should be updated to reflect a request for regular crime-reporting related to parks.
During the meeting Commissioner Jones asked that the commission receive a regular report on crime incidents associated with parks and deferred to staff on the best format for data from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Deputy City Manager McGovern said staff would add the requested report to the minutes and work to include an appropriate format in future packets. The minutes-item pull was discussed and then the commission moved, seconded and voted to approve the remainder of the consent calendar.

Staff said the security contractor will provide monthly updates and that staff will include these or a staff summary and OCSD statistics in future commission packets as feasible.
