Property owner seeks partial utility easement closure to permit home addition; staff report no utility objections

Public Works staff presented the closure and said they had routed the request to all utilities and affected parties and received no objections.
A staff representative (Polzak) said the easement involved a limited portion and that retaining enough corridor would allow future utility work without blocking the owner’s planned addition. “We reviewed this with city staff representatives and everybody that has a right to occupy that easement, and we did not get a single objection,” the presenter said. Staff recommended approval consistent with standard easement-closure practice.
The committee treated the item as routine; there was light banter in the room but no substantive objections recorded. No formal committee vote was recorded at this meeting and staff said the item will move forward per the normal ordinance process.
