Torrington commission grants wetlands restoration permit at 1477 Toringford Street

The Torrington Wetlands Commission voted to grant a wetlands restoration permit to applicant Teresa Guzman Sanchez for property at 1477 Toringford Street (Assessor's map 26, lot 002, block 058). The permit covers installation of wetlands boundary tags and restoration activity described in an assistant city planner/wetlands agent memo dated 05/06/2025.

The assistant city planner explained the applicant had begun clearing woody vegetation and mowing inside a delineated wetland. The planned work approved by the commission consists of marking the wetland boundary with boundary markers (which the applicant already purchased from the city), allowing natural revegetation inside the marked area, and limited seeding in a disturbed pocket the planner recommended be restored to wetland condition.
