Votes at a glance: council approves transportation grant application, travel and several ordinance introductions

At the May 6 Los Alamos County Council meeting the council approved a number of administrative and procedural items by unanimous votes. Travel authorization: Council approved travel for up to three councilors to attend the National Cleanup Workshop in Arlington, Virginia, Sept. 24–26, 2025. The motion (mover: Councilor Reedy; second: Councilor Herman) passed 7-0.

What this means: The DOT funding resolution allows county staff to submit a competitive grant application and, if awarded, the grant would reduce the county’s programmed CIP contribution for the Denver Steels Phase 2 project. The ordinance introductions were procedural steps to put those items on future agendas for final action and to satisfy charter publication requirements.
