Main Street mural removed; city staff say new restaurant tenants are moving toward opening

Pleasant Grove—s community-development staff told council the temporary mural on Main Street has been removed and that redevelopment activity at several storefronts is advancing.
Daniel, a community-development staff member, said the plywood mural is down and that approved facade plans are in hand for a new build-out. He said the site team has ordered materials and that crews appear to be moving into construction-phase work.
Daniel also said two restaurant concepts are lining up for openings on or near Main Street. He identified one chain as First Watch (a daytime dining concept) preparing to open adjacent to Summit Pizza on Pleasant Grove Boulevard and another concept called "Kiki's" planned near the Panera area; both are in early stages of permitting and licensing. "I can smell breakfast coming our ways," Daniel said.
On timing, council asked for a clear sidewalk and access for Strawberry Days; Daniel said he will follow up and request the contractor prioritize completing the sidewalk and reopening the lot ahead of the event. He noted the developer may need to re-fence the area and finish the storefront after the festival.
Next steps: Staff will update council on business-license approvals and coordinate with the developer to ensure pedestrian access is open for the Strawberry Days celebration and related events.
