The Vanderburgh County Solid Waste Management District Board recorded the following formal actions by voice vote during the meeting; all motions carried with no recorded opposition.
- Approval of minutes (03/11/2025): Motion to approve minutes carried by voice vote.
- Storm debris reimbursements: Motion carried to reimburse the city $43,160 and Vanderburgh County $5,360.79 for grinding and transport of winter storm debris. Staff said the city’s water and sewer department already paid the city's invoice and will be reimbursed.
- Work-release van purchase: Motion carried to approve purchase of a 15-passenger van up to $65,000, contingent on the county council approving a residential officer position to administer the revived community corrections trash-pickup program. The board recorded the motion as contingent on council funding and directed the sheriff to consult the county attorney about the hiring/funding arrangement.
- Fall 2025 tree plantings: Motion carried to request $50,000 for fall 2025 tree plantings; the request will be presented to county council for approval and staff will solicit planting quotes in June.
- Accounts payable voucher: Motion to approve the accounts payable voucher carried by voice vote.
Ending: Board adjourned at 9:08 a.m. and scheduled the next meeting for July 15 with an adjusted start time of 8:15 a.m. to accommodate a presentation on a composting feasibility study.
