Evansville Public Works approves multiple change orders, right-of-way permits and 96‑sq‑ft easement for bus shelter

The Evansville Board of Public Works on May 8 approved a series of construction change orders, right-of-way permit recommendations and a conveyance to allow a covered bus shelter.
Actions approved included:
- Change order No. 1 with Rivertown Construction LLC for the 2024 Barrett Law project 24-017, an increase of $1,897.32. The board was told the final quantities reflected field quantities placed; the reported total contract amount was $84,013.61.
- Change order No. 3 with Rivertown Construction LLC for the 2023 ADA curb ramp improvement project (23-027), a decrease of $13,982.80; the revised total contract amount was reported as $292,966.79.
- Change order No. 6 with Dike Brothers Lumber and Construction Company Inc. for the Division Street extension project, a decrease of $12,327.75. Board member Mister Waugh corrected an earlier figure and said the total contract amount should be $962,988.54.
- Approval of Appendix A right-of-way permit applications (permit numbers 02/1946, 02/1947, 02/1949 through 02/1951) with the recommendation that maintenance-of-traffic procedures be implemented in compliance with the Indiana Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
- Acceptance of conveyance of 96 square feet of Lot 2 (replat of Parrot's Enlargement Subdivision) from Rathbone LP of Jefferson County, Kentucky, to the city for a permanent easement and right of way to allow installation of a covered bus shelter on an existing concrete pad. Mister Waugh said Seba King had filled him in on the history and that the conveyance legalized an existing pad not previously in the right of way.
Board members asked a few brief questions about project completion and totals. When asked whether the Barrett Law project was complete, a staff member replied it was finished. For the Division Street extension item, Mister Waugh noted the correction to the total contract amount during the meeting: "That 4 should not have been" in the earlier figure, and the corrected total is $962,988.54.
City engineering staff reviewed the right-of-way permit applications and told the board they were "Reviewed and in order." Each item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with board members answering "Aye." The meeting adjourned at 1:38 p.m.
