The Board of Public Works on May 15 approved an amended and restated agreement between the City of Evansville and Habitat for Humanity of Evansville to clarify the city’s intent that the property involved be maintained as low-income housing.
City staff presenting the item said the changes do not alter any money in the original agreement. “No money is changing,” City staff member Miss Foster said, explaining the rewrite was done with an attorney to ensure the property is “protected as low income housing.”
The board approved the amendment by voice vote.
The revision followed an earlier agreement and CAF the board approved April 3, 2025, the presenting staff member said. The amendment was described as clarifying the original intent rather than imposing new financial obligations.
The board took the vote during its regular meeting; no additional conditions or funding were attached.
Items related to the agreement were recorded on the meeting agenda and approved by the board.
