The Minnetonka School Board voted May 8 to approve a group of policy reviews and routine items.
Human resources and general counsel presented four policy items as a slate. The board approved updates to policy 2-16 (Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee) to reflect current practices, including that the teaching-and-learning department leads the committee and that recruitment no longer relies on paper publications. Policy 2-17 (Measures of Success) was recommended to be sunset because its material is covered in policy 6-18 (Assessment of Student Achievement). Policies 6-01 (District Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment) and 6-03 (Instructional and Curricular Program Review and Improvement) were reviewed and left unchanged as compliant with statute and current practice.
After the policy slate passed by voice vote, the board approved the consent agenda without objection; the consent agenda items were not read individually during the meeting.
Outcome: policies and consent agenda approved as presented.
