Osceola proclaims Emergency Medical Services Week; chief thanks EMS personnel

He credited several individuals by name for guidance and recounted the department’s evolution since merging operations 35 years ago. “They get and have the attitude that they get to go out there and serve the community. They have a heart for service,” Chief Collier said, praising staff who “strive to provide the best EMS and fire protection services in the county.”
The proclamation text referenced President Gerald Ford’s establishment of the week by presidential decree in 1974 and emphasized EMS’s role in the community health-care system. The board approved the proclamation by voice vote; no budgetary or operational changes were made on the record during the meeting.
Chief Collier’s remarks were limited to recognition and gratitude; he named department staff and acknowledged continued county support.
