Elbert County commissioners authorized the county attorney and Community Development Services (CDS) to pursue a professional services contract with planning firm Logan Simpson to conduct a comprehensive review and update of county regulations.
County attorney Greer said the work would allow a full review of current regulations and targeted updates based on issues raised by the planning commission, elected officials and staff. Greer described the procurement as a professional services arrangement and said using a firm the county has worked with before would be a time‑sensitive, efficient option; a draft contract and cost proposal will be brought back to the board for final approval.
The motion to authorize pursuit of the contract passed with the board’s affirmative votes. No final contract was executed at the meeting; the authorization permits negotiation and preparation of a draft agreement for the board to consider later.
