Westmoreland County administration recommended consolidating custodial services under a single vendor and the Board authorized the county administrator, with county attorney approval, to execute a contract with Rappahannock Cleaning Services for annual custodial services not to exceed $120,000.
County staff explained the county previously used two cleaning companies plus two county employees for building custodial work at an annual cost of about $130,000. A request for proposals led to two bids; staff recommended Rappahannock Cleaning Services based on the RFP evaluation and an internal reference from Social Services where that company already provides service.
A supervisor moved to authorize the county administrator to enter the agreement subject to county attorney approval; the motion was seconded and passed with recorded aye votes. The motion included language that the contract execution be subject to county attorney review.
Ending: The county will consolidate custodial services under the awarded contract once the county attorney approves the final contract terms; the agreement is capped at $120,000 for the first year.
