Council moves surveyor’s staffing and pay requests into 2026 budget cycle

The surveyor referenced statute IC 36-2-5-13(d) (as read into the record) to note his ability to request compensation changes in the year a newly elected county officer takes office; council members acknowledged the statutory reference and the committee’s decision to defer action until the full county wage study and 2026 budget process are complete. The council approved a motion to move the surveyor’s requests into the 2026 budget cycle.
