Council approves Johnson Hall’s waterfront concert series permit for summer 2025

The Gardiner City Council on May 14, 2025, unanimously approved a large event permit for Johnson Hall’s free waterfront concert series on Friday nights from June 20 through Aug. 29, 2025.
Michael McGlown, executive artistic director of Johnson Hall, told the council the organization has already booked acts and plans 10 concerts spanning 11 weeks (skipping July 4). “My name is Michael McGlown. I am the executive artistic director of Johnson Hall,” McGlown said when introducing the series. He told the council that department heads had reviewed the plan and that the organization had the required information in its packet.
Councillor Veronica Babcock moved to approve the permit; Councillor Sean Dolly seconded. “I move to approve the large event permit for Johnson Hall free waterfront concert series at the waterfront on Friday nights, June 20 through 08/29/2025,” Babcock said. The council recorded a unanimous vote to approve the permit.
Council members and McGlown noted the series is an established annual event. Mayor Patricia Hart congratulated McGlown and the organization on the continued partnership with the city and the waterfront venue.
