Hayden City Council on Tuesday approved a one-year extension for a previously approved minor-subdivision preliminary plat (J2022-0722, Butterbaugh/Buderbaas). City staff said the applicant sought additional time because of construction delays and equipment availability.
Under Hayden code 12-3-4(g) a developer may request a one-year extension after the two-year approval window; council may grant extensions for good cause. Staff told council that project conditions and city code had not materially changed in ways that would require re-review, and city staff recommended the extension to avoid reprocessing the subdivision.
Council voted to grant the requested one-year extension. Staff warned that if codes change or if the developer fails to apply within the extension window the council could require reapplication.
