Council members discussed departmental coding for some cemetery charges before the motion was called and approved.
Planning and zoning brought a single building permit forward for Steve Hill to place a storage shed on his property. Council member Gerald moved to approve the permit; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
The council approved a $100 sponsorship for the Old Capital Cruisers car show; the motion was made and seconded and passed by voice vote.
On parks and cemetery grounds maintenance, staff presented two bids: Elevate Pest Control at roughly $16,416 and Blue Pine at roughly $27,783. After discussing the scope (parks, cemetery, firehouse and ball fields) and removing street spraying from the lowest bid, the council made and seconded a motion to award the contract to Elevate with the streets removed from the scope; that motion was approved by voice vote.
