Plaistow ZBA approves minutes, recommends reappointment for member; ADU variance fails
Summary
On Jan. 30 the Plaistow ZBA approved prior meeting minutes, recommended reappointment of member Jim Unger to the board of selectmen for another three-year term, and tied on a variance for an accessory dwelling at 5 Sunview Park (motion failed).
The Plaistow Zoning Board of Adjustment handled routine business and administrative votes at its Jan. 30 meeting before hearing Case No. 25-01.
The board approved the minutes from its Jan. 2, 2025 meeting by voice and roll call; the tally recorded four affirmative votes and no negative votes, with one member excused. Later in the meeting, the board voted to recommend that the Board of Selectmen reappoint Jim Unger to the zoning board for another three-year term. A roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes and at least one abstention; the motion carried.
Separately, the board considered a variance request for an accessory dwelling unit at 5 Sunview Park and the motion to grant the requested relief failed on a 2-2 tie. That item was discussed in detail and is reported separately.
The board also reminded attendees that the town's deliberative session is scheduled for the coming Saturday at 9 a.m. in the same room.
