Next Generation Housing: 48 homes closed, 210 planned; program reports volunteer hours and partner donations

Community Development staff told the Land Use and Planning Committee that Next Generation Housing developments are advancing with 48 homes closed to date and 210 additional homes approved for development under existing funding commitments.

Deb Solski reported the program's status and said the last unit in a Hartford development closed recently and that contracting will shift to a new 16-home development at Hartshottawa. She said a grand opening for Cedar Creek Townhomes is scheduled for July 1 and that a groundbreaking for Bridal Place in Flosscomb is set for June 9 at 3 p.m. Staff said they will provide a project dashboard as part of future quarterly reports to the committee.

Solksi also provided program impact metrics included in the packet: 4,992 volunteer hours contributed by program participants to partnering agencies; $45,000 donated to partnering agencies; and incentives earned by partners totaling $156,000. Committee members asked for and received the closed-home total (48) and were told the county has 210 homes slated for development under approved funding.
