GOSHEN — The planning board discussed a proposed school-bus company facility on Industrial Drive and flagged multiple operational questions the applicant must answer before the board will act.
Speakers at the meeting said the applicant told planners it could fit bus parking and vehicular circulation on the property, but residents and board members questioned whether employees’ vehicles and bus movements would overflow onto public roads. One commenter said past local bus depots are “jam-packed” and that the applicant’s claim that they have made similar layouts work elsewhere lacked documentation — the planning board had requested video of prior operations but attendees said it had not been delivered.
Other concerns included snow removal logistics for dozens of buses, the extent of paving versus gravel on the site (applicant said the last 50 feet near the road would be paved and much of the site would remain gravel/stone), and whether parking sequences would be arranged by departure routing (the industry practice of parking vehicles by route to ease morning departures). Board members said these questions and evidence of actual operations ought to be resolved at the pending planning-board hearing.
No vote occurred at the meeting. The planning board intends to review final parking diagrams, snow‑removal plans and evidence of comparable operations before making a decision.
