San Antonio City Council on May 14 approved an ordinance to canvas the May 3 general election and adopted the timeline for the runoffs, after City Clerk Debbie Rockassiter presented the official canvassing report.
Rockassiter told the council the election was ordered on Feb. 7, 2025, and that early voting began April 24. She said, “Total number of votes cast, including provisional and overseas ballots, was 102,300 out of 837,000, 297 registered voters, which was a 8.18% voter turnout.” The clerk also presented an official tabulation that listed 101,150 total votes with 1,150 undervotes; the clerk attributed the tabulation numbers to the elections office report she received the day before the meeting.
