Council names Krupa mayor pro tem through Dec. 9, 2025
Summary

The Hemet City Council on May 13 unanimously appointed Councilmember Krupa as mayor pro tem to serve through Dec. 9, 2025, following the recent resignation of the prior mayor pro tem.
Mayor Jackie Peterson nominated Krupa during a council reorganization item; Krupa accepted. The motion to appoint Krupa was seconded by Councilmember Lodge and passed on a 5–0 roll call. Mayor Peterson said she would rely on Krupa to assist with mayoral duties while continuing to preside over the council.
The appointment fills the interim leadership role through the remainder of the calendar year; staff will publish an updated list of council liaisons and committee assignments reflecting the change.
