The petitioner’s attorney, Joseph D. Calderon, told the committee the request is “an extension to allow for, facilitation of an approved project, 4 footer underneath the surface of the alley by about 3 feet” and that the change is entirely subterranean and will not alter the alley surface long‑term. Staff recommended approval, saying the vacation would not affect above‑ground use and the alley would remain in place after construction and inspections required by the permit process.
