Utah County GOP reviews slate of constitutional amendments before state convention

Christy (host) convened a Utah County Republican Party Zoom session on the proposed constitutional amendments that will appear at the state convention, giving sponsors two-minute windows to summarize each proposal and answering members’ questions.

Sponsors outlined several amendments affecting party governance and internal procedures. Stafford (presenting for Lisa Sandberg) described a proposal to shift the party fiscal year from July 1 to Oct. 1, saying the change would give newly elected officers more time to prepare a budget, allow the executive committee and a budget committee to review the plan before it reaches the State Central Committee (SCC), and reduce instances in which officers must present a full annual budget immediately after organizing conventions.
