The Lakeville Conservation Commission opened an abbreviated notice of resource area delineation (ANRAD) on May 13 for a 45.23-acre portion of a larger parcel off Myrick Street and voted to obtain a peer review of the wetland delineation.
Greg Drake of Outback Engineering represented DSM Property Group LLC and described a delineation covering 3,778 linear feet of bordering vegetated wetland and 921 linear feet of top-of-bank for an intermittent stream on the Lakeville portion of the property. Drake said a separate review of the Taunton portion of the parcel had already been considered by Taunton’s conservation commission and approved. He told commissioners the delineation included approximately 63 acres in total, about 18 of which lie in Taunton.
Commission members asked technical questions about the number and placement of flags, hydrology and visible flow in the intermittent stream. Commissioners and staff expressed uncertainty about the stream bank and recommended a peer review of the delineation. Commissioner Margaret Francis and other abutters asked for copies of the plan; the applicant provided to-be-distributed prints and the commission staff said they would supply full plans to abutters for review.
The commission voted to obtain a peer review (the commission discussed using Brandon Vanouf as the reviewer) and to continue the hearing to June 10, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. The applicant will provide requested information and the commission will obtain a cost estimate for the peer review before the continued hearing.
