Live in Franklin Township with my family. Just recently left my role as chief information officer for the state of Indiana," he said.
Barnes told the committee he holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and a master's degree in cybersecurity law and policy and said he was eager to contribute to city IT work.
Procedure and vote: After Barnes spoke, a committee member moved to send the appointment to full council with a due-pass recommendation; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The committee chair welcomed Barnes to the board.
Ending: The confirmation will be considered by the full City-County Council where the appointment will receive final action.
