The Cape Coral Community Redevelopment Agency on May 14 approved a proposed fiscal year 2026 budget that staff described as structurally balanced and aimed at advancing ongoing capital projects and downtown improvements.
Budget administrator Nicole Reitler presented the FY2026 proposal, saying the CRA’s budget includes forecasting a 6.5% taxable-growth assumption and reflects a reduction from five to four CRA-funded positions, with the city’s code compliance division assigned to support the CRA and be reimbursed for that work. Reitler said the FY2026 budget equals about $7,000,001,947 and listed line items including $2,900,000 in tax increment revenue from Lee County, $4,000,000 in an increment transfer from the City, and planned transfers of roughly $4.9 million to capital projects.
