Commissioners discussed options and expressed comfort with assigning initial decision-making to Commissioner Michael and having the welfare director draft a resolution for formal delegation to be placed on a future agenda. The board approved the current funeral-assistance welfare request by voice vote.
The welfare director said the county has not denied requests recently and will prepare an official resolution to outline the delegated authority and workflow; payments will continue to process through the auditor’s office if approved.
