Council approves multi-source budget amendments; Providence Building roof replacement added to scope

City staff presented multiple budget amendments and updates tied to the Providence Building renovation, grant awards and other limited items and told the council the changes reflect newly secured funding and some unanticipated construction work.

Staff said the project picked up a $500,000 Golden Leaf grant and that Corvallis (partner/contributor as recorded in the transcript) agreed to pay roughly $280,000 for additional renovation of the back portion of the Providence Building; staff said that additional scope increased project revenues and added construction line items. A roof replacement emerged during demolition and required additional funding; staff said two flat roof systems and multiple roof penetrations led to unexpected water intrusion and replacement needs.
