Euless council certifies election returns, swears in two council members and names mayor pro tem

The Euless City Council on the evening of May 2025 canvassed returns from the recent municipal election, declared the results and administered the oaths of office to Place 1 winner Tim Stinnifer and Place 3 winner Eddie Price. The council then selected Tim Stinnifer as mayor pro tem.
Council members announced the certified returns during the meeting. City staff reported a 7.1% voter turnout in the city, compared with 7.99% countywide. Tim Stinnifer ran unopposed for Place 1 and received 1,723 votes. In the Place 3 race, Lianne Foulard received 754 votes (about 35%), and Eddie Price received 1,400 votes (about 65%), making Price eligible to take office under the city charter’s majority rule for election to office.
The council acted on a motion to declare the election results; the motion was made by Council member Tompkins and seconded by Council member Perry Bynum. After the declaration, both Stinnifer and Price were sworn in by Miss Zetter; each repeated the oath to “faithfully execute the duties” of council member for the City of Euless and to “preserve, protect and defend the constitution and the laws.”
Following the oath ceremonies, the council proceeded to select a mayor pro tem. Council member Perry Bynum moved to place Tim Stinnifer’s name in nomination; the motion was seconded by Council member Paddell and the council voted to appoint Stinnifer as mayor pro tem. The mayor welcomed Stinnifer and noted he would have assignments in the coming term.
The declarations, swearing-in and selection were presented as formal agenda items; no public vote tallies were read into the record beyond the vote to adopt the declaration and the subsequent council vote to appoint the mayor pro tem. The meeting record shows the motions, seconds and that council votes were taken on each item.
The council also presented each newly sworn member with a certificate of election following the formal actions.
Looking ahead, the mayor noted several community events and reminders occurring later in the week, and then adjourned the meeting.
