Davis County moves to negotiate feasibility study for Justice Complex site with EDA Architectural

The Davis County Commission approved a notice of intent on May 13 to negotiate a contract with EDA Architectural for a feasibility study of the county's Justice Complex site.
Commissioners discussed the item after moving it out of consent for fuller discussion. A commissioner noted the Administrative Office of the Courts has identified a new courthouse for the county as a priority: "it is their number 1 initiative to hopefully get that funded by the legislature sooner than later," the commissioner said during the meeting.
The county previously allocated funding for a feasibility study in the last budget session. The study approved for negotiation will review the entire Justice Complex site to identify long-term and efficient uses of the property and to guide planning should design or funding move forward. Curtis Koch said the county will negotiate terms based on EDA Architectural's RFP response and will return to the commission with a recommended contract or with a recommendation to proceed to the next-ranked proposer.
A motion to approve the notice of intent to enter contract negotiations was made and approved by the commission at the meeting.
