The Town of Charlton Select Board on May 13 held public hearings and approved requests from Massachusetts Electric Company (d/b/a National Grid) and Verizon New England to install joint utility poles on Denfield Road and East Bayleys Road.
For Denfield Road, the application asked to install a joint arm pole approximately 235.1 feet southwest of the Denfield-Goldfold intersection to provide service to a new residential home. For East Bayleys Road, the request proposed a joint pole approximately 1,767 feet north of the East Bayleys–Somerdale intersection to provide service to a new home. Town staff said both requests had been reviewed and approved by the police chief and the DPW superintendent, and that abutter notices had been sent. No written comments or public objections were submitted to the office.
The chair opened each hearing, read the notices as sent to abutters, and after hearing no public comment the board closed each hearing and voted to approve the pole locations and installations as requested.
The board recorded that department reviews were complete and that no additional town conditions were imposed.
