Arnold Road striping contract - The council awarded a contract to Safety Marking LLC to restripe Arnold Road to reduce the travel lane width at locations where vehicles had been striking sewer caps. Staff said the work will reduce the bike lane edge width and shift lane striping to reduce vehicle contact with sewer covers; the contract award amount presented was $19,545. A resident, Gino Riccio, provided a diagram and asked about recourse if the work did not follow the diagram; staff said the award is a service contract and the town retains contractual remedies.
School impact fees for sewer pretreatment (resolution 2025-57) - The council approved allocating $14,857.68 in school impact fees to purchase pretreatment equipment required for Coventry High School’s new sewer connection. Manager Perillo explained the items include grease traps and washing-machine filters needed to meet pretreatment requirements to tie into the regional sewer system. The roll call recorded five affirmative votes; motion passed.
Other procedural items - The council approved a variety of other items listed on the agenda, including contractor approvals for millwork and countertops to be handled at a later meeting, and several committee renewals and appointments.
