Sunnyvale council holds interviews for boards and commissions; appointments set for May 20

Sunnyvale City Council convened a special meeting on May 12 for interviews of applicants to city boards and commissions, conducting interviews of 17 candidates and scheduling formal appointments for its next regular council meeting on May 20.

The city clerk introduced the process and told the council: "Between tonight and tomorrow night, council is gonna be conducting interviews for applicants to all of your boards and commissions. After these interviews, you're scheduled at your next meeting on May 20 to consider making appointments to these boards and commissions," according to the staff report. Council members then took roughly 15 minutes per applicant to ask questions about experience and priorities.
