Burrillville honors students named to Rhode Island All-State music ensembles

The Burrillville School Committee opened part of its May 13 meeting to recognize students selected for Rhode Island Music Education Association All-State ensembles at the elementary, junior and senior levels.
Superintendent Dr. Salido read an official citation on behalf of the Burrillville School Department congratulating students selected to Elementary All-State Chorus, Junior All-State Orchestra, Junior All-State Band, Junior All-State Guitar Ensemble, Senior All-State Band and Senior All-State Guitar Ensemble.
Names read aloud by Dr. Salido included, among others: Griffin William Lawrence, Brooke McVay, Harrison McVay, Amblin Raspalo, Joseph Switzer, Aubrey Toussinya, Alexis Vasquez (elementary chorus); Mason Cabral, Benjamin Elliot, Chloe Pafune (junior orchestra); Caden Mulligan, Kaylee Perez, William Trink (junior band); Garrett Boudreau, Lydia Farah, Jack Latandres, William Latandres III, Benjamin Reifler (junior guitar ensemble); Gabrielle Boudreaux, Christopher Pfefford (senior guitar ensemble).
Chairwoman Lacey and Dr. Salido invited recipients who were present to the podium to receive citations and remain standing for group photos. The committee thanked the students, music teachers and families for their efforts and applauded the students on stage.
The recognitions were presented early in the meeting; photo opportunities were scheduled immediately afterward.
